Preparing Artwork for Paper Cup Printing
How to get logo files ready for full-color cup printing, and what to check before you send them.
Send high-resolution or vector artwork, keep important details away from the cup's seam and rolled rim, and expect the printable area to differ by cup size.
File quality
Vector files reproduce most reliably because they scale without losing edge quality. High-resolution raster files can also work well for photographic elements.
Small text and very fine lines are the first things to suffer in any print process, so give them room.
Cup geometry
A cup is a cone, not a rectangle. Artwork is laid out flat and wraps, so designs that rely on perfectly straight horizontal bands need care.
The seam and the rolled rim and base are not usable print area. Keep logos and key wording clear of them.
Color expectations
Full-color CMYK printing reproduces a wide range of brand colors. If you have exacting brand color requirements, tell us up front so we can advise before production.
